Privacy Policy

Last updated 2026-08-23. Short version: this site collects almost nothing, and the one thing it does collect is opt-in.

Who this covers

This policy is for getmead.app, the marketing website. It does not cover the mead application itself, which has its own, separate privacy behavior described on the main page's FAQ and in the app's source. The app runs locally and only talks to the network for optional vulnerability scans, it has nothing to do with this website or Google Analytics.

What this site collects

This site has no accounts, no forms, and no newsletter. It sets exactly one cookie of its own, a record of your cookie choice (which categories you accepted and when), so the banner doesn't reappear on every visit. That cookie holds no personal data or tracking identifier, just your preference and a timestamp, and is set regardless of whether you accept or reject, since remembering your choice is what makes rejecting mean anything on repeat visits.

The only other thing this site can collect is aggregate usage data through Google Analytics (page views, rough location and device type, how people move through the site), and only after you explicitly accept that in the cookie banner or the preferences panel linked below. If you reject or ignore the banner, no analytics cookies are set and no usage data is sent to Google tied to you individually.

Why Google Analytics

To get a rough sense of whether anyone's actually finding and reading this site, nothing more specific than that. Google acts as a data processor for this aggregate usage data. Google's own privacy policy covers how Google itself handles that data: policies.google.com/privacy. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking across all sites that use it via Google's own opt-out browser add-on, independent of the cookie banner on this site.

Your choices

Change your mind any time: click manage cookie preferences to reopen the panel and switch analytics on or off. Clearing your browser's cookies for this site resets the choice back to "not yet decided," and you'll see the banner again on your next visit.

Your rights

If you're in the EEA/UK under GDPR, or California under CCPA, you have the right to know what's collected, request it be deleted, and object to its collection. Given this site only collects anonymous, aggregate analytics data (and only with consent), there isn't personal data tied to your identity to request or delete in the first place, the simplest way to exercise these rights here is to reject or withdraw analytics consent above. For anything else, email [email protected].

Changes to this policy

If this page changes in any meaningful way, the "Last updated" date at the top will change too. Given how little this site actually does, that shouldn't happen often.
